Nagesh S. Mhatre has over 35 years of senior management experience in international medical technology companies, including Miles Laboratories (Bayer, AG.) and Becton Dickinson & Company.  At Becton Dickinson, he served as corporate vice president and president of the company's Immunocytometry Systems Division. Prior to this, he was for three years President of Becton Dickinson Laboratory Products, Europe, in Grenoble, France.  At Miles Laboratories, he served for four years as managing director, Miles-Yeda, in Rehovot, Israel, a joint venture with the Weizmann Institute of Science. The Company won an Outstanding Exporter of the State of Israel Award in 1973.
 
He served, in the initial development phase, as Chairman and CEO (interim) of NuGenesis Technologies Corp. Westborough, MA. a company that developed and marketed data warehousing and data mining for pharmaceutical research groups. He has been a member of the Boards of Directors for MicroSure, Inc., Portland, OR. a medical device company, Strategic Solutions Group, Annapolis, MD. An E-Learning company, specializing in systems solutions for training and service for large corporation and US Government agencies and Metrika, Inc. Sunnyvale, CA. a developer of medical diagnostic technologies. He also served on the Boards of Quidel Corporation, La Jolla, CA. a medical diagnostic company and NitroMed, Inc. Boston, MA –nitric oxide delivery systems for cardiac stenosis company.

He served as a Chairman of Guava Technologies, Inc... Guava Technologies, Inc. has developed a flow metric system that is the first Personal Cytometer (Guava- PCA) for quantization in the bioanalytical field in human and veterinary sciences.  He is founding chairman of BioImagene Corp that recently acquired Scimagix, Inc. Until recently, he was chairman of. Scimagix, Inc. that developed software tools for analysis, warehousing and mining of scientific images such as 2-D gels and microscope slides.

He is currently Executive Chairman of Alpha Innotech Corp. that provides integrated systems tools for functional genomics. He has recently initiated two new startups – Cytoplex Biosciences, Inc.exploring chip technology for cell physiology and Vista Biosciences, LLC developer of a novel continuous glucose monitoring system.

He has been a member of the Boards of Governors of Silicon Valley Capital Club, Heidelberg International Club, San Francisco, CA. and Friends of Weizmann Institute of Science. He serves as a Trustee on the Board of World Affairs Council, San Francisco. He is a charter member and membership chair (1998-9) of The Indus Entrepreneur-TiE Silicon Valley.

Dr. Mhatre received his B.Sc. degree from Bombay University, India, an MS degree from Oregon State University and a Ph.D. in biochemistry / microbiology from Rutgers University
